Calm, patient, encouraging, loving - clients often use these words to describe the way I interact with them and their family. A photo session can be stressful, chaotic and high pressure for everyone, and that's a recipe for disaster when it comes to getting the images you want, so I do my best to mitigate that as much as possible.
Preparation is important, both on my part and yours. I plan out the session beforehand and learn a little about your family from your booking form. You can take a look at the different guides here on the website about what to expect, what to wear and how to relax. Kids need to know what to expect too, and that this is a fun thing that the family is doing together, and that you are looking forward to it and excited to have some good photos for your home.

Natural, handcrafted images
So much of what we recognize in our loved ones is in the little details. The way your little ones love to talk about Legos, the way your fiance looks at you or the exact way he holds your hand, the way your teen looks when she's hugging your dog. How do we make these things happen in the short, artificial timeframe of a photo session, especially when a big camera is involved?
I use guided posing to help make room for those natural expressions to come out. Each simple, natural pose is followed by movement which makes room for authenticity to shine, leading to a combination of classic and more candid images where everyone is looking their best.
